Test Plan

The purpose of a test plan is to articulate the quality goals and to describe how the team intends to address each goal. The audience of the test plan will include project management and the quality staff.

Depending on your situation, one of these test plan formats may fit your need. They are arranged based on the theory that if you're lucky, most people will read the first few pages.

put the quality criteria up front. This is my current favorite.
put the roles and responsibilities first.
put the assumptions up front. I used this one when the product had a particularly fluid plan.
